Fraser McAlpine Design - Brilliant Building Designs in Dunsborough, Western Australia

A+ R A-

This modern styled beach-side Dunsborough home amongst the Peppi trees was once a single storey, three bedroom, red brick construction dating back to the early 1970's.

The client's brief called for extensive remodelling of the original floor plan, plus the addition of a second storey providing more rooms and an upstairs Living/Dining area.  The upper floor windows frame views over nearby Geographe Bay.

A galvanised steel portal and rendered blade wall provide the structural support for the large balcony and ply-lined roof overhang.

Polished Tassie Oak floorboards feature in the upper level addition, and strategically placed wall "cut-outs" provide natural light & view glimpses from passageways.

The low pitched "Butterfly" skillion roof ensures building height compliance and good access to Winter sun.  Strategic window placement ensures good cross flow ventilation.
